Overview

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is an amazing adventure that takes you around Mount Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world, standing at 8,163 meters. Located in Nepal’s Gorkha region, this trek is perfect for people who want fewer crowds but still want stunning views and an exciting experience.

The trek offers all kinds of landscapes. You’ll start by walking through green forests and terraced farmlands, then move into high mountains with snow and glaciers. Along the way, you’ll cross suspension bridges over rushing rivers, walk through quiet valleys, and see incredible mountain views. The most thrilling part of the trek is crossing the Larkya La Pass at 5,160 meters. It’s a tough climb, but the views from the top are worth every step.

The Manaslu region is a mix of two cultures: Hindu in the lower villages and Tibetan Buddhist in the higher areas. You’ll visit small villages with friendly locals, see ancient monasteries, and spin colorful prayer wheels. Villages like Samagaun and Samdo give you a chance to see how people live in this remote, mountain world.

Unlike the busy Everest or Annapurna treks, the Manaslu Circuit Trek is quieter. You won’t see as many trekkers, so it’s easier to enjoy the peaceful trails, the natural beauty, and the local culture. It’s a perfect choice if you like trekking in a calm and relaxed way.

This trek is not easy—it’s for people who are ready for a challenge. You’ll walk for several hours a day, climb steep trails, and deal with high altitudes. When you reach the Larkya La Pass, the air is thinner, so it’s important to go slow and give your body time to get used to the height. With some training and determination, you can do it!

You’ll stay in tea houses along the trek. These are small lodges that offer simple but cozy rooms and meals. The local people who run these tea houses are very welcoming, and their kindness makes the experience even better. The facilities are basic, but they are improving every year.

Since the Manaslu Circuit is in a restricted area, you’ll need special permits. These include the Manaslu Restricted Permit, Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP), and Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP). You can’t do this trek alone—you must have a licensed guide or join a group.

Best Time to Visit Manaslu Circuit

The best times to go are in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, the weather is clear, the skies are blue, and the trails are at their most beautiful. In spring, you’ll see colorful rhododendrons blooming, and in autumn, the fields turn golden.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is an adventure you’ll never forget. It’s a perfect mix of stunning nature, exciting challenges, and cultural experiences. If you’re ready for a journey that’s both beautiful and rewarding, this trek is waiting for you!

The trail will be mostly uphill, and we will pass through rocky paths and small grassy areas. The views along the way are amazing, with snow-capped mountains and wide open skies.

As we trek, you might feel the air getting thinner because we are reaching higher altitudes. This is normal, and it’s important to take things slow and drink plenty of water.

Today is one of the most exciting days of the trek! We will start early in the morning from Dharmasala and head towards Larkya La Pass, which is at 5106 meters. It’s a tough day, with 8-9 hours of walking, but the beautiful views will make it worth it.

We’ll trek uphill for a few hours to reach Larkya La Pass. At the top, you will be rewarded with amazing views of snow-covered peaks and the surrounding mountains. This is the highest point of our trek, so take your time and enjoy the moment.

Today, we leave the mountains and head back to Kathmandu. We will start our journey with a drive from Tilije to Besisahar, which will take about 8-9 hours. The road can be a bit bumpy, but you will get to see beautiful views of the countryside, small villages, and green fields along the way.

Once we reach Besisahar, we will switch to a private vehicle for the rest of the drive to Kathmandu. The road will be smoother as we get closer to the city.
